Water Nymphs

Water nymphs are widely considered the most perfectly beautiful creatures in the sea. Very uniform in look they generally have midnight blue hair, deep dark eyes, and soft pale green skin that almost glows when the moonlight hits it, or can tan to a dark olive color. This acknowledgement has given rise to an emphasis on competitive beauty in many water nymph societies, especially amongst the women. This tendancy has often been used by outside rulers to control or exploit them.

Generally a peaceful race, water nymphs have only rarely ever ruled themselves. Usually content to abide by the laws of foreign governments, they migrate rather then revolt when a political instituition begins to encroach on their lives. The most famouse exception to this was the Avinrail uprising of the southern sea kingdom, which established Water Nymph self rule in the area for 300 years
